I tried feeding RG to my 3 year old futurity prospect and she dropped weight and just didn't look as good. We have great pasture/grass hay, however, I do not feed alfalfa hay due to blister beetles. I was told RG should be fed with alfalfa....I can get good quality pellets. Wondering if RG is worth another shot with alfalfa pellets!?

I feed RG with alfalfa cubes (free choice) and a scoop of alfalfa pellets. In all my years of trying to work out a good feeding program that is also affordable, this is the best for me. We have a good coastal pasture, but usually keep a couple of horses penned. I am very happy with the RG and alfalfa for the penned horses. My 3 yr old futurity prospect is mostly in a pen to protect her back from the sharks and she looks amazing. In my opinion, RG works!

I feed renew gold (1lb a day) plus flake of alfalfa plus flake of coastal. My horses are up during the day and out at night. They hardly ever finish their coastal flake and they look great.
I love that I only buy a few bags a month and they are 30 pounds a piece rather than 20 bags of Safe Choice.
My pasture is about 8 acres with three horses on it, nothing special.
