I was told they stopped making Surpass for horses. Is this true??

My vet told me there was a substitute, but it's for human use. I decided to give it a try this weekend. Was NOT a fan!

If you can't get Surpass, what are you all using instead?

Voltaren Gel all the way!!! Its alcohol based and won't make a sticky mess like surpass.. You can also have it compounded as well.

That's what it was...I apparently got the generic. I guess I didn't feel like it worked that well..

I had a horse fall on my hand and slightly crush a knuckle a year ago and have pain there so I tried it and I didn't feel much of a difference.

I did like that wasn't as sticky as Surpass though!

I just had my vet call in a script to a compounding pharmacy since I could not get it ay more. I think that it's effectiveness depends on the individual and the condition you are using it for. I tried it on my "compressed" thumb joint which burned like crazy and saw no difference. Lately I have been applying to a couple of jammed finger joints which my chiro suspects turned in to rheumatoid arthritis and DO get some relief. Not sure if it helps my horse or not.

I just wasn't thrilled with the results I got from it. I am going to try the product ExcellR8 from Equine Biomed to see how I like that...

ExCellR8 seems like a fairly new product (maybe not, and I'm just behind...), anyone have any experience with it?
