| I realize that people who ride in or are involved with judged shows know little about speed events and care about as much. My trainer and I went to the world buckskin show about a month ago. After spending most the night in the emergency room, (trainer injured her back) she did very well. Ok, now for the vent. The barrels were fine but not staked. The poles were crooked and not staked. This is the funny part. Remember this is a world show and the crooked poles are not staked. The girl that ran before my horse was making a nice fast run but hit three poles. In the middle of her run she gets off and sets the poles up. Thought the judges were supposed to do that???? The other funny thing is that I paid for the video long before my horse ran. The video guy kept wanting me to have him video two events that my horse was not even in. Well, I get the video the other day and it had every barrel racer which was fine, Pete Oen and Justin Revette were there so I got their videos. Ok, on to poles. The video guy got the last four pole benders which did not include my horse. What the heck??? I could have videoed the darn thing but I am notorious for missing stuff. I wanted to make sure we had the videos. |
