I have a new mare that I am thinking about having bred next year. She is very athletic and agile but kind of small boned and only 14.3. She has Peponita and Top Moon and Johnny Bars on her papers. Kind of a mix of things.
I would like a stud with a good solid build in the back end and a laid back attitude without a hefty price tag. Will use the foal for small time barrel racing and trail riding.

Small boned doesn't necessarily mean their bones aren't dense and solid. If she's never had none related issues with heavy work, barrel racing and such, I wouldn't be too worried about that. Unless your preference is just large framed, big boned horses. I know that's an issue with selling one sometimes. If you're breeding to keep the foal, it's really only about what you like. If you want a marketable foal, I wouldn't do it unless you will have some big names on the papers.
