Location: Where you need a paddle... Oregon! | What grain do you like to feed with your stabilized rice bran?
I got a couple of bags at my local feed store because they had been broken, so were selling them for $10 instead of $30. Now I'm curious what you find goes best with them.
My typical feeding routine is whole oats, alfalfa and free choice grass hay. |

I would just cut back on the whole oats. |

How many pounds per day do you feed, and with what forage? |

I don't feed any grains except for the little bit that is in the Omni's cubes (10#'s a day) along with rice bran and free choice Coastal and 4 cups of Shredded Beet Pulp along with minerals, FORCO and THE MM. I'm going back to the Mustang Sally cubes that don't have the oats and rice bran and will continue to feed the same.

Is this the max? I was wondering if anyone fed more than the amount listed on the bag. . . .

The most I have fed is 2 pounds per day (1 pound per feeding). That was a geriatric horse in winter. Haven't needed more than that. |

I'm not sure on the pounds but I fill up a 3qt feed scoop of rice bran. They also get VERY nice alfalfa and free fed grass hay. I live in Arizona and we do not have grass. :(

Location: Willows, CA | As long as you are feeding Stabilized Rice Bran rather than raw rice bran, two pounds per day should be about max if your hay quality is good. Don't feed raw rice bran to horses. Makes good cow feed though. |

Location: Arkansas | Thank you T4L and Winwillows on the pounds---exactly what I was looking for. I'm feeding him 1.5 lbs now and wanted to know if I could go up just a little. Yes sir, it is stabilized. |
