I'm envisioning a big tall horse that doesn't want to turn, but loves to run straight. If I were to be interested in this horse for a barrel horse, I'd want to be sure he was either proven or started correctly and slowly on the pattern.

She came off the track as a four year old. Only a couple starts and never finished better than 5th. She is green broke. Mainly been on trails. 16 hand dappled grey. Not patterned in any way.

The only Eye Opener horse I've ever really been around was a run away, even when repeatedly and carefully vetted. He had a good handle and was started right but just would get on the muscle and up the fence and around the arena he'd go.
I know there's some good ones running barrels, but I would very carefully research your project before you jump off into something with those lines.
I'd be so so so tempted to buy her and stick her with a tiny little cutting stud and see what came of it!
