Ok so I saw a post on Facebook with the results from the Champions Challange in Pasadena and it got me thinking. What bothers me is that they allow the money from the Champions Challanges to count towards the standings for the NFR...I just feel that if they are not going to open the entry to every WPRA member then they should not allow the earnings to count towards it. I feel this is another way the "upper end" controls who is getting the final set of tickets to the NFR...Kimmie posted "I had nothing to gain from running through the alley at the CC in Pasadena I have sealed my ticket. SEVERAL people needed this spot worse than me." ...instead of competing a spot she earned she was able to have a "buy out" and allow someone that did not earn it run in her spot.

I did not get to read any of the Champions Challenge drama before it was deleted. I actually agree with you on having won money that counts towards the standings and who goes to the NFR that is not open to everyone. In that case throw out almost all the winter rodeos. Never agreed with that rule never will. As for as the Champions Challenge NO rules of the WPRA were broken. One person who qualified didn't run and the next person in line was bumped up, so what if she was paid to draw out. Again NO rules broken both women benefited, no one cheated. Kuddos to them - will happily sit and enjoy watching both girls run at the NFR
