I would not hesitate using it or question it's effectiveness.

According to my vet it is not a type of medication that breaks down easily. The government requires the manufacturer to put an expiration date on it, so they probably use the maximum allowable but the wormer "should" still be good. I have use wormers more than a year or two out of date.
