Location: Lubbock, Texas |  Lakota LQ trailer owners I am looking for some feedback. I know they are not the high end of trailers like 4Star or Elite, but I am curious as to how they are holding up. I am in the market for a new trailer that I will be living in as well as hauling on occasion. My number one concern of course is what is the quality level and/or any major issues if any that people have had. I have found a few 2016 charger LQ that I really like, but am a little leery to jump on board just yet. Thank you in advance for any thoughts, good or bad.  |

| I have a couple friends who's had theirs for a couple years with not many complaints. I ordered one this spring and don't really have any complaints either.
The window latches, not on the window itself but the piece at the top of the frame that the latches pops into, they're getting a little bent and making a couple of the windows hard to shut, probably partially my fault for slamming vs closing the windows, we plan to call and get replacements.
Hauls nice.
I've only had mine one season, hauling within the tri state area 2-3 weekends a month since May, but the other two I know personally have hauled theirs several years for junior and high school rodeo and still love them. |

Location: Kansas | I had one and loved it, BUT...I will suggest if you are looking for a long term use to look at a higher end (4 star or such) trailer. I liked mine, but with the big slide and an older model I finally started having some issues. The first issue was with the length of the Big Horn and the large LQ slide there was a lot ot flex to the whole trailer. Because of the flexing I was never able to use the front escape door due to the twist it was not square. I have been told (when I traded mine in for a used 4 star) that Lakota had strengthened their trailers. I rarely hauled mine over the three years I had it so it took some time for issues to be visible. The final issue was after a blow out on my truck the rivets on the nose cap sheered and it popped loose. I will say that the company was great to deal with in fixing any and all issues immediately. My local RV dealer said they were great to work with on warranty and non warranty items. So there customer service was great! Bottom line if you are looking into a long term living / hauling trailer I suggest something else. I miss the interior space, but love knowing that there won't be any issues, on the road. |

| I'm in the same boat here, and will be living in mine for a few months as well before I actually move...I can't afford a new 4 star or platinum, in fact, my budget is 50K. With this I hope to find one with a slide out so I can have that extra living space..good post, since I'm pretty sure I'm going to be buying Lakota next spring but sure am wondering what others have to say! |

Location: run2win land | We have had several long hauls on ours. My hubby really stays on top of maintenance. We have the Bighorn 16ft shortfall with 12ft slide. I could actually live in this trailer comfortably as the living space is wonderful. We had a few small issues. The motor on the slide was too small and it stopped working correctly. They sent out a replacement larger motor immediately without a quibble. The antenna wasn't quite right and wouldn't go all the way up. The only thing that hasn't stayed fixed is sometimes the living quarters door does not latch. This must be due to the above issues.I still feel my trailer is a wonderful buy, I would do it again and it transformed out traveling. |

Location: Warsaw,NY | I just bought a new one last march. 15' sw w/slide the latches for drop windows r bent but that is minor, i have a couple issues with LQ inside, furnace is loud and a couple minor things Lakota immedialty found an RV placve that will fix and accomodate the warranty. I have to take it in yet, as i needed trailer. so far i love the trailer and hauls well. They are a lighter trailer. Dixie horse and Mule were great to deal with!!! |

Location: Oregon | We've been happy with ours. It's a year old. I agree they aren't as well built as the top trailers, but they are nice. Ours is 8 wide and is totally functional with the slide in. Good luck searching. We looked for a year for a used one with a slide in a 13' or under short wall. No luck so we bought new. It's working well for us. |

Location: South Dakota | We are really happy with ours too. I enjoy spending time in it. It seems quiet and roomy in the horse area and I think the horses prefer the air flow dividers. |

We got ours from Dixie Horse and Mule as well! My husband said they were wonderful to work with(it was a surprise, so I didn't have my hand in it). And they delivered it for fairly cheap. Thereafter, any time we had a question, they were more than happy to sit on the phone with us.
We are LOVING our Lakota. |

I did a lot of measuring before I ordered mine and ended up having them do 16" mangers instead of the standard I think 24"? I can still fit buckets etc in the mangers but my stalls are every bit as big as in my in laws elite without mangers.
I do put my smallest horse in the center with the wheel well though. Any of them have plenty of room there, but the little dude makes the most stressful we. |

| I have an 11' with no slide. I love mine. I did extensive research before buying. I am that person that tries to buy the best quality possible for the $. Yes they are not quite as nice as the more expensive trailers, but not everyone can afford one of those. So, I picked the Lakota. I really love everything about the interior and horse part as well. And I love my mangers! Best thing ever. My horses have plenty of room. But that's not really a Lakota issue, just a preference thing. If you have 4 16 hand horses, then yes measure and figure out what size mangers you need. I bought mine from Canton tx at Triple M. They had the best prices at the time. Right now you might can get closeout deals for 2016 models. But my best advise is go look at several different brands before you buy anything, so you can compare for yourself. |

Location: lost in missouri | We travel with friends that had a Lakota. Had being the keyword. The trailer was bought new in 2014 for $85k. it had 2 slides was a beautiful trailer. The issues with the trailer were numerous. They finally just wanted rid of it and let it go for $42k just to be rid of it. The one slide was a constant issue from the motor going out to the frame flexing. Fridge went out within the first 3 months. Water heater went out at 6 months. The cabinets in the kitchen were off, especially where the fridge was. The door wouldn't stay on the cabinet above the one slide. It constantly blew fuses and they were constantly having light bulbs burn out, to the point that Lakota finally just sent them a case. the window latches bending, not able to use the escape door, etc. The final straw was when they had a horse set back, it wasn't even a hard set back and the horse tie popped off the side of the trailer. Come to find out the horse ties are not to a stud they are just to the side of the trailer if a stud is not in the "right" spacing of where a tie should be. It tore the whole panel off the trailer. The trailer was beautiful to look at inside and out, the quality of the product was horrible. |

Thanks for sharing, this is the 3rd time I've heard someone mention the frame flexing, some pple I know had a huge living quarters lakota, and the center of the trailer bowed.Also a 2014. So I'm wondering if the smaller living quarters are ok or not now  |

they were amazing to work with!! and yes when i called with the few issues i have they contacted lakota and thy found a trv place near me that will take care of it and gave me the phone number to set things up Cindy even gave me her cell to text her when ever i wanted that poor girl did so much work for me before i actually bought a trailer |
