I am looking to give him something for the trip. Calm his stomach and nerves. Whats some of the things that have worked for you guys. I just want to knock the edge off. Thanks in advance. I also give Gastorguard while hauling as well. |

 Having Smokin Bandits

Location: Woodstown, NJ | I'm having major anxiety issues with one of my horses right now. We had a big incident in the trailer and now we have a problem. The board buddies have been helping me with it. You can do a search and see what's been happening, if you'd like. But anyway, I have given her Vita-Calm, which is now renamed Via-Calm. It's a B vitamin. I noticed a slight difference when I gave it to her a few days before we planned to go somewhere. That may be all you need. We also Aced her last week when we were going to my daughter's finals last week. I injected her with one CC in the muscle. I didn't want to take a chance. It made a bigger difference. However, she wasn't firing at the show. Didn't matter to us because she's still in training. Weren't expecting to win anything. Though she did still pick up a check! Friends have told me they give a half CC on a horse treat quite regularly. Personally, I wouldn't give it regularly but they did describe it as "taking the edge off" and acted like it was no big deal. You need a prescrption for Ace from the vet. Good luck! |

sample bag is just 4 cookies. The regular bag has 30. It really depends on your horse. Some give 2 the night before, the morning of and an hour before they are needed (warm up/vet/trailer ride etc). You can just see what works on your horse. My friend that is hand walking a rehab horse uses 2 just an hour before she walks him. That is working great for her. |

| Ace works great for a horse that hauls and stalls well but needs something for their run to calm them. If it's going to be a stressful event for 3 days I would use chlorpromazine. It is given orally and it lasts ALL DAY. |

Really all day! How many hours is all day? I like Chlorpromazine. They are not so clumbsy with it as Ace just a lot more aware of where the feet are going. |

| Not so much for the calming, but for settling the stomach OxyGen's Jailbreak paste really seems to help my hard hauler. She will eat and drink happily when we arive if I give it to her, but if I forget then getting her to drink is dang near impossible. |
