Just seeing if any of you have dealt w/a dog w/lymphoma & what direction did you go.?. It seems whatever direction I go it's just going to prolong the inevitable. I'm just so devastated, he is a member of our family & he's only 6. It just doesn't seem fair. :(

So very sorry you have had this diagnosis.
I have been there twice now. Very devastating. I know your pain all to well.
First one, we did chemo...yes as you said it is only prolonging the enevitable and it is not for them but for us.
Hurts like hell either way and it only gave us a couple of months more. As hard as it was then I will not do it again. I will just love them for as long as I can and they tell you when it is time
Prayers for you. Only you can make that decision. They will love you till the end either way

My girl had tonsil cancer:(she was six and she was my soul. She was to far along when we found it and I shared my story here mainly because I desperately needed help to get through it.I knew we had to take care of her and it hurt so bad I ended up in hospital. They can't help themselves that's what we have to do for them because they are so loyal and loving.Im sorry for all of you.The pain is unbearable. The cancer itself is awful so I just couldn't imagine the meds and cancer together and the pain they go through.good luck with your decision.im really very sorry and I hurt for you.

We just had to put down our old Aussie due to a tumor. She was old so made the decision a little easier to not treat and be ready when the time came. In the discussion the vet said she treated one of her dogs with chemo and would never do it again. I personally don't know anyone whose dog has been in remission or been "cured". So sorry, our four legged friends grab a piece of your heart and don't let go, hugs. Look up golden paste-turmeric-it will help her a lot and extend her time.

So sorry for everyone's loss. . . . We went thru it with Chandler's cat in April. Chemo was mentioned but we just didn't feel it would benefit him and probably only cause him more distress and pain. Many hugs for what you're going thru and prayers for comfort. You'll know when the time is right. And like someone said, he'll love you til the end cause you're making the decision based on what's right for him

We just went thru this with our dog. She was three when she passed. We didnt do chemo as the vets i spoke with all said the same thing: It is mostly for us, not them as the end result is the same. My thing was the chemo would have her live a couple of months longer but she would be sick while doing it. So we decided it was only prolonging the enevitable for us while making her suffer. I still cry almost every day. Since we was so young it seems so unfair. I noticed the lumps in her neck Memorial day weekend. I prayed for her to make our yearly vacation with us in July and to her 3rd birthday also in July. We lost her one month to the day of her third birthday. She took a piece of my heart with her. I hate cancer, it makes me angry. I know at the end she was hanging on for me. She was ready to go. You could tell she was stressed at times wondering what was happening that she just wasnt able to do things anymore. I agonized over letting her go to soon and not soon enough. In my heart now I know we both got there at the same time. RIP my sweet Sa-Sa. Prayers to you my friend. We did steroids once she was diagnosed and it made the tumors shrink for a good two months but then they started growing again. Once we hit that growth stage again it wasnt long til we had to say goodbye.

we had one diagnosed with it a few years ago. The vet put him on steroids and they did help for a short time. Unfortunately lymphoma does not have a good prognosis at all. :(
