My daughers lil mare has a couple skin cancers and I was told to get some Indian Blood Root. Has anyone heard of this and do you know where we can get it from?? I called my local health food store and they didn't have any.

If you google it there is some information on salves made from blood root. You might be careful with this herb, what little I just read would make use it only under a very educated herbalist.

GLP, Thank you. Yes I have been researching and the lady who told me about it has used it several times and has told me the in and outs on it. I know I do not want the vet cutting this thing out of her shoulder and everyone I have spoken with regarding it said the same thing as far as NOT letting the vet cut it out.
Blood Root is a very potent herb but when you give it to your horse please make sure that you add zinc and some anti oxidents because it does produce Nitric Oxide which produces free radicals.. Anti Oxidents will restrict Nitric Oxide from becoming a free radical.

Ingrid Naiman, www.cancersalves.com, has had a lot of experience with this. She has written a book about it that is available from her website. You might check her out. I have a friend who has used the "Indian salve" to successfully remove a couple of skin cancers.

Try Hay what's that Blue Stuff...... I had a horse with a sarcoid (impossible to get rid of) and I just looked the other day and the hair has grown back and it is almost goine except a small bump, can't even tell it is there! She also had a sunburn and it got rid of that too and....... it must feel good on their skin because no one fights me when I rub it on them. Just a suggestion before using something else. I used Xxterra on a sarcoid and it hurt the horse bad and I hated it!!
