| That's not my experience and we've had quite a few own get and grand get. We currently have 5 grand get here by different sires and out of Bully daughters. None have been late to mature. I'd probably look at it being more the Fishers Dash than the Bully. But I'm partial to Bully and what he sired. |

| I have a Bully Bullion and he was not a late bloomer. He was solid by the time he was 6 or 7.
LOVE him! |

| I have to grin when I read how an old horse can grow taller because of
certain sires ...
Once the growth plates close ... typical 26 months for fillies ... 30 months
for male horses ...... they will NEVER start growing taller again ....
maybe fatter and bigger body .. but NOT IN LEG HEIGHT!!
90% of the time if you end up with a "slow grower" it is because of feeding and/or worming program for pregnant mare and then while baby is growing up for the next 30 months ..and// or baby got sick and became stunted .....
Feeding and worming programs and overall care determines the growth factor
on your babies .......... unless they are cutting bred//mix ... then count on having
a short horse ... because of genes and inbreeding ..
When is the last time anyone has had their dachshund grow into a St Bernard??
regardless of age ... lol

I think they're talking about being mentally mature not physically.

Definitely talking about mental maturity, not physical maturity. But on a side note, I disagree with that. I have seen plenty of horses grow in height from how they measured at 2 or 3. And yes, some did not get a great nutrition plan early in life or in the womb, but others did. I think it depends on bloodlines a lot too.
To OP - I think there's too many factors to base it on bloodlines alone as to being a late bloomer. I have a grandson and he is completely immature, but he also has Beduino, DTF, and Blurthemurr...so there's alot affecting him, lol. But I've always heard the opposite, that Bully Bullion are sane, but you can't force them into anything. |

| There are a few really nice own sons and daughters of BB around here. The stallions/gelding seem to be nicer than the mares. There's a stallion and a mare that are full siblings and the stud was running solid by the time he was 6, beautiful patter and he is very handsome himself. The mare on the other hand isn't as big, and just wasn't able to clock like he did, never really became solid. They ended up just breeding the mare because she wasn't cutting it in the barrel pen. |
