1 Peter 1:3 Praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade, kept in heaven for you.
13: Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter instructs us to " gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace (favor) of Jesus Christ. When the Bible tells us to " gird up the loins" of our minds, it means to get our minds off everything that would cause us to stumble as we run the race God has set before us. Concentrating on the thing at hand rather than allowing our thoughts to wander all over the place. God has a good plan for each of us, but we must walk the path that leads us to it. Focus and concentration are both real challenges in our world today. To keep our minds on what our purpose is requires great determination and even training. Girding up your mind is another way of saying" stay focused on what your need to do to keep on God's path.
Joshua 1:9 have I not commanded you ? be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for The Lord your God will be wherever you go.
Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive your enemies before you, saying Destroy them!
Psalm 32:7-8 You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct and teach you in the way you should go, I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
For it is WITH God all things are possible
Father God, guide me today to do all things that will bring glory and honor to You. Amen
