So little over a month ago I took in a rescue. guy called and didn't know what to do with her but she was going to die if she didn't get help soon. So I took her in and in two months she looks awesome ( putting a lot of money and feed in her). Wife is riding her and falling in love with her. Guy said she is ours but is having trouble getting papers cause of a divorce. Court has made her get her name off papers after shed forged his name but did not say in paperwork who horse it is. so paper are at aqha waiting on courts. Is there anything I can do or has anyone delt with this. really nice breed mare and rides good. Just afraid someone is going to come take her away.

This is just a guess, but if her name is off and he is left, I think if you can get him to sign a transfer, just print one off online. Then can't he sign it and you mail it to AQHA? AQHA is slow as death and sometimes doing the paperwork yourself vs them mailing things out, it can speed things along. I have heard you can get a health and coggins to show ownership. That might help.

THANK YOU, I may call aqha and see what they say. just seems to be a mess. I would of thought if she had to take her name off they could directly put it is his. But since the court didn't put in small print whos it was just out of hers its hung.
