Location: Texas | I am just in the process of switching my feeding program to Hay-Rite mini cubes. My older horse (1100#, low activity) gets about 9 # a day, split into 2 feedings. He is not eating any coastal, even though it is offered 24/7. I am slowly reducing his 12/8 pelleted feed/rolled oat mixture, so he still eats 2# of that at each feeding, but remarkably, he has been not very hungry this week. Sometimes he doesn't eat all of his grain & there are always a few leftover cubes when I feed. I have been replacing his grain mix with about 6 oz. of Renew Gold 2x/day. He is an easy keeper, so I am being careful. He has always been a good eater, so I am a little confused, but I think he is eating slower & staying fuller. |
