How many people out there would breed their mare to a cutting bred stallion for a barrel horse? Can a cutting bred stallion make it in he barrel horse industry as a sire?

I would breed to one no problem because I like cowhorses but as far as owning one and marketing it to barrel racers as a cross? I think it is a tough road but not impossible. It will be much harder to do than marketing a trendy barrel bred stud. It will take a lot of proven offspring to get people on board IMO

I think it depends largely on your mare quality/pedigree. If I came across one with a ton speed on the bottom and cow on the top I might just pass out from excitement!

Absolutely. Kelsie Miller up here in the NW has some really, really nice horses by PG Dry Fire. He's a son of Playgun and out of a daughter of Dry Doc. They are amazing and can flat fly. Her young daughter qualified for the JR NFR on one of them that she has. I added a link to one of her many amazing runs.
