Location: TX | I have some of my own ideas but would love to get others thoughts for fun. What stallion would you choose for this mare? I'm including a picture of her, her pedigree and a picture of her 2016 epic leader (her youngest colt-pictured at 60 days old). Feel free to add reasons for your choices and confirmation critiques of both mare and foal. Also to keep it more interesting let's throw out dash ta fame for now. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/dr+nick+gold+thistle
As a side note she has five total foals. She has been very successfully crossed on dash ta fame twice (both pro caliber horses and both still just starting out with their riders, both are owned by very successful trainers). The mare has two other foals, one by bully bullion that is un-shown due to owners personal life circumstances, but is a very nice individual. Her oldest by frenchmans fabulous got a bit of a late start with her former owner who then sold her to an individual that does not barrel race. I was told this filly was beautiful on the pattern but just never handled the pressure of speed all that well and would duck the first barrel despite being checked out by multiple vets. I have not seen this filly in person as she was raised before I owned the mare so just going off what I've been told.

Location: Where I am happiest | Thats because Dr. Nick Bar is the #2 magic cross on Dash Ta Fame with average earnings per starter $51,000. I wouldnt be trying to re-invent the wheel when you can keep tapping the well head. I'd stick to the DTF's. |

Location: TX | Thank you, I have been very pleased with the epic colt. As far as DTF goes that is obviously the proven choice, however he himself may not be in the budget this year as I think with her age they may also require me to do icsi. So, favorite dash ta fame sons or stallions out of amazing dash ta fame mares? I've considered both and would love to get others input as well. |

My first choice would be JL Dash Ta Heaven. Man he's siring some awsome awsome horses. He is $5000 though and you would have to really convince Jud Little to do it. My second choice then would be Eddie Stinson or Woobridge. For gambling on unproven, I'd look at Feel The Sting and Royal and Famous. Depending on your mare.

Location: TX | Yes JL Dash ta heaven would be one of the first in the list for sure...if Jud would agree to it. Otherwise I also really like Streaking ta fame, the red dasher, hp dash ta fiesta, feel the sting, and have considered slick or maybe another race stallion by first down dash. Woodbridge, Eddie Stinson and lions share of fame, royal and famous have all been considered too. So many to consider! A streak of fling has also crossed well on other dr nick bar mares. |
