Location: Texas | My girls were wanting new sport boots for their horses for Christmas. Was looking at the Iconoclast but don't know the difference between orthopedic and rehab? Does it really make any difference between the two? Is there one that you like better? |

| I use Iconoclast and really like them. Yes, there is a difference. If she is going to slow work and/or run in them she needs orthopedic boots. The rehab boots are for horses on stall rest or that are coming off an injury,etc... |

Yep, the rehab boots have a special wedge for extra support and are not intended for exercise, just for use in a stall. Make sure you measure your horse's legs per their measuring guide, they do run small. My horse wears a large on the front and extra large on the back. You can't assume they wear the same size as other boots. |

| My iconoclast didn't hold up after 3 rides. Were already wearing in the same spot on two different horses. Bought a pair of pro orthopedic today and really like the construction of them. Also bought a pair of RES boots that I like but hear they were bought out. |

| I ran in all iconoclast this year. They are shot. The Velcro is no longer sticky and there are wear spots at some of the seams.
Not sure what to think, we'll keep using them here at home some when we need boots, but I need new ones to make runs in for sure. After seeing some other folks not happy with how they've stood up I'll probably look at other brands.
I had some RES but I wasn't overly impressed with the sturdyness of them. Considering flow boots. |

Location: Idaho | I have used Pro Choice (SMB's and Elites), Iconolast and Classic Equine Legacies.
I would choose Legacies all the way, they are the only boot I use now. They are built to last, provide the support needed and they don't get dirt in them. I have even used them on two separate horses who have had leg/suspensory injuries after they fully healed and never had an issue with lameness. Of course I took other preventions as well, but I love them, hands down. |

Also, tried my Pro Orthopedic today and really, really like them. They fit super well, not bulky at all. Their velcro is designed for that specific fabric (think medical grade equipment) so it doesn't wear out or get loose. I'll have to see how they hold up but I love them so far. |

Location: SW New Mexico | I tried the Iconoclast on Brother Dave..they didn't give enough and caused very visible swelling on his hind legs...
My vet did a ultrasound on the swelling, and told me to stop using them... asap..
I have quit using "sport" boots altogether... and have gone back to good ol' Splint boots...
Dave is happier.

Glad to hear you like the pro boots. While we were in vegas, we met the guys at Pro and picked up some to take and try. We take the this time of year off and will go back to riding in January. So, I am looking forward to how they hold up.

I've already talked with Ward. He blamed it on my horses interfering and said their feet were unbalanced (mind you these are two completely different horses with completely different builds and I am anal about their feet) and that's why they were wearing. Very disappointed that he blame my horses rather than stand behind his product. It's not like I was asking for a free pair of boots, all I asked was how to stop the wear from getting worse and if I could send them in to have any reinforcements done. I won't buy them again. |

Yep I spoke with Chris at the NFR. Super nice guy and they had a good discount going. My mom is a vet and said the material on the outside is what they use for jackets on their pigs at work (to hold medical equipment, just to clarify) and they've held up for over a year. Hoping these are what I need! |

| I also back the terrible experience ive had with iconolast. I was a firm believer in them, and had a pair for a few years and LOVED them. They finally wore out, and I got engaged and now have 6 horses instead of 1. My fiance and I bought 3 new pairs for our horses. We only use them at shows and within 5-10 shows all 3 pairs were junk! We do not use these for daily riding. None of the velcro will stick anymore, there are holes in the boots on the back side of the fetlocks, and the seams are coming apart on 2 of the 3 boots. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not purchase again, under any circumstances. Im not sure what changed in the 3 years, but it was not for the better.
On another note, I do like the ortho boots, I have one horse in them and they seem to be built and put together better. I also have a horse in the CE legacy boots, and love those as well. All my other horses are in PC elites and that is my daily riding boot as well. The velcro is ALWAYS sticky on these, even if they are falling apart from the excessive use. |
