Does anyone use Triple Crown Complete? Does it make your horse hot? My mare does NOT need to be on anything that could potentially make her hot. She is an easy keeper and a little piggy (eats anything) so she could possibly go on Low Starch instead. Currently she is on Legends Carbcare Performance and is doing great with 1 scoop 2x a day
I have to ask, if she's doing great- why do you want to switch her?
That being said I used to feed the Triple Crown Complete- when Cargil bought them out & was milling the feed it went to total garbage.. I guess now it's getting milled by BlueBonnet (I believe) & the quality has improved. While I liked it, I don't have a reason to switch back at this point honestly- but it never made either of my horses hot
It does not make mine hot, but if you are worried about it Senior is a good chice as well. I feed an equal mix of Complete & Senior during race season and Senior only on the off season.

Senior would be a better choice if you are worried, but if she is an easy keeper I would just put her on low starch. I have my easy keeper on low starch and he is fat and happy.

TC Complete did make my horse hot. Senior is lower starch but my horse was still a little nutty on it. Now she gets American Family Feed, looks great and it doesn't make her hot.
I feed triple crown complete, lite and senior. Just because my horses are all different ages and/or fat. I have been using triple crown grain for about 17 years now. None of my horses have gotten hot from it, but I also don't feed a lot. Just enough to put their supplements in so like 3-4 cups per day. I was actually hoping it would give my mare more energy because she tends to be lazy but it didn't.
