I am planing on exhibitioning my mare at a big show that's indoor only. In exhibitions am I allowed to ride around in the arena or is it only to do barrels?

 I look at it like I'm renting the arena for 1 minute.  I have one minute from the time the timer starts till I need to be exiting the arena.  jmo

It all depends on where you're at and what their rules are. I've been to some places that have a 30 second time limit, some have a minute. Typically if I'm taking a horse in for an exhibition we will trot the pattern. If it's a young or inexperienced horse, I can tell by how they act during that exhibition where any potential problem areas in the arena will be and I can ride accordingly for our run.
