So I am looking at possibly moving to that area to take a job. I live in Steamboat springs colorado and it is just to expencive to live here. I had stayed so my sons dad could come see him but he has made no real effort so now I am looking at moving on and to a warmer climate. But I have noticed that jobs down there pay quite a bit less then up here so my question is is it possible to support ones self and a child down there in the $10 an hour range? What does rent run ? Fuel? Yada yada yada.....Any information about the area would be great.

if you enjoy a good methamphetimine, you will love Boyd.
Ya not so much but thanks for the reply.I guess no one on the board lives in or around this area......I figured with all the races that come up when you Google it some more people would be form around there...

I lived in Paradise which is not far at all from Boyd. And I have a friend that still lives in Boyd. Cost of living is definitely less than Steamboat Springs...but $20,000/year isn't a lot to raise kiddos on....and have horses etc.
I lived in Paradise and worked in Fort Worth. Boyd would be an even shorter drive to work in the metroplex. Better salaries there. Not sure what you do for your job?

Also...I'm sure there is meth in the area...maybe a lot of it...who knows. It's everywhere. But I personally don't travel in those circles so I never saw any of that going on.
