My first futurity colt was by a son of playgun. We LOVED her. She was smart and super gritty. She won about 40k at the futurities and went on to be a really nice open horse. |

| Best barrel, roping, cutting horse I ever had was a son of Doc's Jack Sprat out of a Leo Question mare. Took my niece to the Junior World Show in Ft. Worth 3 years in a row, then she went on and done the High School Rodeo on him then went into the NBHA. He passed away last year at the age of 33. He was a very gifted horse wish I had a barn full just like him. |

Do you know what the name of the horse Cheryl Laws ran in the futurity (I think) was? I'd be interested to see what kind of mare that horse was out of. Of course Nico Suave has been super fun to watch and recently won the American qualifier at Glen Rose. Neat, neat horse! |

She had an accident & fractured a bone in her hock about a year ago. So she's had a lot of time off. I've been back on her for about 3 months now and so far she's staying sound. If she physically holds together, she is going to be a lot of fun. |

| Shelli Creacy's horse Nico Suave is a Playgun and I think ran the fastest time at the WPRA Finals. If not it was one of the fastest runs all week. Then she won the American qualifier at Glen Rose with another phenomenal run. Shelly Morgan has won lots of pro rodeo $ on at least 2 different cutting bred horses but I don't know the exact bloodlines. |

| All I ride is cowbred and I love my current open horse. He is by Rap Cat (Highbrow Cat) out of a Freckles Merada Mare. My up and coming barrel Horse is a 3 yo filly by Third Cutting out of a Lectric Playboy daughter. She is talented, smart, and fast! The best one I've trained was a daughter of Bobs Hickory Rio out of a Smart Little Pistol daughter. She's a freak and sooo talented. This is a video of one of the girls friends riding her (first time to swing a leg on her) and running 1D against over 100 head (with tough horses). https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10153440179477552&id=249... |

I love a peptoboonsmal!!! We have two, one who is by an own son and a filly out of an own daughter. They are BRILLIANT. They can be a little tough- they are so smart that you kinda have to make them think it's their idea!! But, both of ours are super athletic and fast! Thanks! Yes, I have friends that keep up on all of that and they had said that! I totally lucked into this mare a year ago. She'd been shown in some reined cowhorse events and had won a little money. I stumbled onto her in a Facebook group, and a friend went and checked her out for me. I ended up buying her sight unseen and had her shipped up here. Believe it or not I bought her for my husband to do mounted shooting off of, but she's so nice on the barrels already, I haven't let him on her yet-- LOL! We actually flushed an embryo out of her this year, to Firewater Finale so that will be exciting to see in this spring. I'd like to flush her to a cutting horse this year, but there's lots of possibilities with her pedigree. |

Location: North of where I want to be | Best barrel horses I have ever had have all been cow bred x on speed. The very best one came from Shomakers and was by Shoot Yeah out of a Docs Prescription mare. The one I have now( this years prospect if you will) is a HBH & Doc Lynx on top , Snicklefritz Chex on the bottom. I LOVE this horse.
After my last encounter with something that was all speed bred I am going back to my roots.

I do love him! Do you know what the name of the horse Cheryl Laws ran in the futurity (I think) was? I'd be interested to see what kind of mare that horse was out of. Of course Nico Suave has been super fun to watch and recently won the American qualifier at Glen Rose. Neat, neat horse! She placed on RunAway Play gun

Thank you! And I stand corrected in my previous statement. I misunderstood the announcer and thought he said that horse was by Playgun too. That's what I get for trying to work during the BFA webcast! LOL Thanks again! The sire to this horse is full brother to Bill Cole, Oceans Runaway and Wave Carver. I have several Bill Cole. They don't know they're big horses : ) they turn like little cow ponies
I noticed that. I tried to buy a Bill Cole colt a few years back and didn't get it done. Wish I had! |

| sandygirl1 - 2016-12-23 4:07 PM Most of these cutters are pretty small. Would some of you say the average size of these horses are 15hh and under? Just curious....seems like barrel racers and ropes ...heelers in particular are going back to smaller horses. I personally like a smaller horse. My husband prefers smaller horses to heel on. Between 14 and 15 hh and not over 15.
