Location: TEXAS		 I'm feeding the Muenster feed which is shaped like the round dog food.  My horses drop it so bad...they've had their teeth done.  Is it the shape or am I crazy?

If so...sometimes too much grinding surface is taken down so it's like eating with marbles.

Wet your feed down and that problem should go away.

Location: Willows, CA		For some horses this is a conformation problem. If the horse is slightly parrot mouthed it will drop feed like this.

And some horses are just super messy eaters.. I've had two geldings that just cannot keep it in their mouths. Teeth done, they align perfectly, they're just messy.

Two summers ago I was noticing my Red (who I've gotten his teeth done like clockwork every day) is dropping grain like crazy versus my aunt's Romeo (who probably never had his teeth done, if ever ... and he was 12) wasn't dropping a morsel.

Red is just a messy eater. Half of it ends up on the ground no matter what he's eating. Always.

*sigh*
