| When saddle shopping, what brand would your recommend and why? Looking at buying used.
Feel free to share pros and cons to each one. |

| Caldwell, hands down no comparison to the double J in quality leather and feel, my opinion. However I do have an old double J I use for my "beater" saddle, I will only run in my caldwell, a balanced ride. |

| I purchased my first Caldwell a year ago, and the comfort, fit, and positioning has the others beat. It's important though to get the rise and seat size that is comfortable to you. If you sit in one that is just right, raise the left stirrup leather up and photograph the number on the saddle. Call Wendy at Caldwell and send her the number. She can tell you the tree, rise, and seat size of the saddle. This is important, because many people selling used Caldwell's often make a mistake when advertising what tree or rise the saddle is. There is a used Caldwell Facebook page if you prefer not to wait 9-12 months to have one made.

Location: Desert Land | Caldwell - no question. That's all I will ride in and I have tried/owned about every major saddle maker you can think of and I always go back to the Caldwell. |

| Well you don't see many used caldwells for sale if that says anything for them... They're super nice and last forever! |
