Location: MN | My horse is not picky by any means, hes an absolute porker. I cant say he loved the AE Detox I put in his feed last night. I started out with just one scoop and he ate his feed fine, but much slower than normal and whatever powder didnt stick to his feed, he left it in the bottom. Hes on a ration balancer, so he doesnt get much grain at all. Otherwise, hes on a round bale all winter.
Any tricks to getting your horse accustomed to it? I live in Northern MN, so putting any kind of oil in his feed every day during the winter is pretty impossible. |

Location: Smack Dab in the Middle | I always started mine on a half scoop--even less if necessary--and wet the fed a little with water or AVJ. Then just add a little more AE every day or every other day until you get to the amount that you want to feed. It's a stronger smell and some will hesitate a bit until they get used to it. Mine all hesitated at first, then got to where they LOVED it after a few days of getting used to it.
P.S. When dealing with the cold, I just carry my jug of AVJ to and from the barn with me when I chore. It's supposed to stay cool, so I just leave it in the garage and pick it up on my way out.

Location: North of where I want to be | I own the pickiest gelding in the world! Give it a few days, start slow and in a weeks time he will be eating it.
Mine does. And its the only one he will eat. I tried to switch him to a smartpak supplement and that was a waste of $120.00

Location: Georgia | I do AVJ also. I use it to feed any type of powder, helps their stomach and helps powder stick to their feed. |

Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | Applesauce! I have a gelding that picked through an entire scoop (we fed pellets at the time!) the VP of the company told me to mix it with a spoon full of applesauce and he was fine. I swear by detox! |

Location: Arizona | What's AVJ? I feed AE detox and love the results. My mare picks through it but she does finish her grain. I never thought of adding a little applesauce. I might try that. |

Location: Missouri | You can add apple sauce or just wet it with water. It should only take a few feedings then he will lick the bucket clean. We have one that about every 3 months he decides not to eat it, we just skip a few feedings and he goes right back to eating it! |

Location: MN | Thanks y'all!! I put the teeniest amount of water in his feed tonight and he licked it up. I'm excited to give it a try. I've read nothing but great reviews. If the bag is left open, it won't lose its potency will it? Sorry if that's a dumb question |

Location: Missouri | A 2lb bag on maintance last about 35 days, 7 lb about 120 days and 12 lb about 220 days.
It will not lose its effectiveness if left open, but if you have dogs, cats or rats( lol) they will love it too! Lol |

I have read that!! It's in the same barrel my feed is so their little paws can't get to it. I just hope my horse continues to eat it! |

Leaving the bag open will be fine if the conditions are dry. |
