| What can anyone tell me on the No Hit Bits? I know there was one NFR runner that used one, they don't seem unreasonably priced, but remind me of a typical sliding gag. Has anyone used them? Love them/hate them & why?

I have one with the smallest square port and small twist, and the new one is a smooth dogbone.
I mean yes, they're pretty much a souped up draw bit, but I just get a different feel from my horses. I still use my rope draw, but find myself reaching for the NoHitBits more often. And my team roper husband has even used them on his horses.
As much as I love them, I don't really see a need to buy another. The two I have are different enough mouthpieces, and I have other bits to fill the gap if needed. |

Location: Riding or working in Texas | I love my no hit bit, even better my horse loves it!! now i dont think that they would fit every horse but it is perfect for my mare who was running in the simplicity and needed just a little more help around the barrels. she has been running beautifully and no complaints on her end like head tossing or pain. i can also be a lot lighter in her mouth with we both can appreciate  |

Location: Southern Indiana | LOVE! It's such a well made bit. So many gag bits are too big and don't fit average horses properly. This one does. I feel like the shanks give it more weight and makes it have a bit more severity than a regular draw gag. It's not a severe bit, like they might look. I purchased it to use on my colt that ran on the track. He is pretty stiff no matter how much I work on his flexing. I feel like it has helped him tremendously. I've only exhibitioned in it once. He needs a little more whoe to run in, but he did work well in it. I mostly like these types of bits for slow work. Once again I have to mention how well made it is and that it fits perfectly. I have a twisted wire w/ dog bone. |

| Odd man out but I think its a gimmick and fad and can't wait until the hubub dies down  Lots of better bits out there (and I'm not talking quality wise) if you can't get them to do what you want in any other less severe bits without "bullying" (for lack of a better word) them with this one, then I would look elsewhere for answers like pain or dare I say, your own training

I agree. I learned along time ago. Less is more.........My favorite bit three piece EdWright short shank. |

Ditto. I tried one on several horses and they all hated it. Was just too much going on IMO. I didn't like the "feel" of it in my hands, felt stiff and cues didn't feel soft. Hated that string thing curb so far up the underside of their jaw. Sold it asap. |
