Thoughts on this cross? Looking to breed my OTTB.... mare is sentimental (and turning out to be a nice working mare); would like to get one foal out of her for family use (not resale). Best horse I've ever had long ago had similar breeding to the stud so that's the reason for the cross (and he's close).

Also, if you breed Grey on Grey pretty much guaranteed a Grey, right?

The stud is cutting/roping on the top and run on the bottom, but not close up. I love Storm Cat. I would buy that baby for anything, he could go in any direction.

On the grey question, most greys are heterozygous. If both are, you will not be guaranteed a grey. Technically, your chance of a grey is 50%, with one grey parent. With two, your chance is 75%.

If just one is homozygous, you will get a grey every time, no matter what the other horse is.
