Location: MO | I am sure this has been discussed and I do plan on a search, but I wanted to get this out there in case I don't find what I am looking for.
Chain, regular/square/twisted/skinny twisted/etc snaffle, dog bone, Dr. Bristol, mullen, copper wrapped straight piece.....I think you get my drift. LOL
Now the questions.... which is the easiest on the horse, which is the hardest, which do you use and why? Are there specific purposes for some of these mouthpieces? I was in a convo and heard that a chain mouthpiece can be very harsh, and I have also heard it can be very easy on a hprse's mouth. so which one is it? Any opinions on the others? Any that are more harsh or more easy that I don't have listed? What happens when you add a noseband (rope, chain, steel) to bits, does it truly get their nose more?
A completely generalized post for an in general discussion. :):) |
