Location: The best kept secret in TX | Who is riding one? Pictures? Thoughts?
I know what shop makes them and the whole story on that....
I also have my own opinions on price, leather quality, sizing of the trees, etc. So we are good there.
I'd really like to know how they seat you coming into a turn, behind the barrel, and how they position you coming out of the turn. Thanks guys.  |

| Bumping this up for you... I'm going to try one tonight. I have a regular Jeff Smith with the Buster Welch tree but it's got too much rock to the bars for my guy. Any idea if the tree is the same or not? |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Buster Welch Tree is different than that of the C3.
I believe the C3 has a wider and more flat bar spread than that of the Buster Welch.
Someome correct me if I am wrong. |

Location: Illinois | I follow his wife on Instagram and remember a comment she replied to. Someone asked if they made a 7" gullet and she replied saying they are 6 3/4" with a 13 1/2 bar flare on a buster Welch cutter but could also do custom.
I really love the look of them. I'm a huge double J fan and I feel like they have a lot of similarities With the c3. Maybe that's why I like the look of them? Looks like the seats can really keep you deep which for me I love. I don't *need* another saddle at all.. But if I did I would for sure try one

Location: Where we're waiting for spring! | I have one and it's the best riding saddle (for me) that I've ever sat. I feel balanced and secure and can ride my horse every step of the turn. While it sits you deep, I have never felt trapped in it and I can get up if I need to. If you are someone that likes to ride really forward and lives for a saddle like a crown c, this isn't the saddle for you. But I love how it sits me down and on the horses back. I feel like I can think about my hands and timing because I'm not trying to stay centered.... your just balanced in it. |

I felt trapped in the pozzi and it really hurt my back. None of that with the C3. The leather quality far out surpasses double j, I'll have my C3 forever. |

Tried a C3 today and completely agree with you. My sister has a Pozzi for her horse I'm running for her and they don't even begin to compare. The leather quality and balance the C3 has is incredible. Selling my regular Jeff Smith to get a C3 now. By far the best riding saddle I've ever sat in. And it fit my super hard to fit horse. Can't wait!
Plus they have 10% off going on until the end of this month, they have a brand new C3 for $2,500 online. Can't beat that. |

Location: Freestone TX | I bought the C3 recently because it fit both my horses, a huge ASOF and a tiny BJO. I hauled both horses to the shop and sat a C3 on them for fit. I was impressed. I thought my Martins were the bomb but the fit on the C3 was superior to the Martins. Both my horses are built differently.
I will say they are not as light as I was told. I needed a really lightweight saddle which was the 1st thing that brought them to my attention as they were supposed to be around 20 lbs. Mine, straight out of the box without a girth or breastcollar, was 30 lbs. By the time I add those items, it will be comparable to the weight of my Martin.
I am going to have to have the fenders switched out on the C3. I was not able to take them up enough to fit my leg length. I am 5'2" and by the time I shortened the fenders enough to fit me, there was no room for the stirrup hobble. I am going to take it back and see if they can put the fender you see on the Jeff Smith barrel saddles on it. |

Hard to say as it's a different tree. The C3 is a lot flatter bars in my opinion. On Tami's website it says her tree doesn't have any rock to it but that's definitely not true. I'll see if I can get some photos resized to show you the difference in how they sat on my horse. In both the C3 and the Semas, I had a regular fit. |

The regular fit worked the best, at least right now while he's still filling out and growing. You can see the wide dumped down just a tad more than the regular.
But you can see the Semas, even with a shim, is totally dumping down on him and popping up in the back. I could fit my entire hand halfway up his spine after I rode. Had way to much rock for my little guy and threw me forward.
As for whether or not it's wider, I couldn't really tell you. You'd have to ask them what the gullet and bar angles measure to be sure, if there's more flare on one versus the other, etc.

I am close enough I can do that. I was impressed with that level of service. |

I'm right on the edge of them being too long also, I'm 5'5" but with short little legs and it took a couple days of breaking it in to be able to get them where I wanted.
I'll also add, I ordered 2 different C3's and both needed lots of oil when I got them. The leather quality is there but they were pretty stiff. Couple good doses of oil and some riding time and they're good to go now. |

| I have admired the look of these saddles for a while. They really are gorgeous. Seem to have a great fit and seat. I would want to deal directly with the shop because I am not so sure about some of the associates in the field. |

I’m not sure that’s correct so double check with the shop. They are both a buster Welch style, but I don’t think they are the same. The C3 and Jackie Ganter are the same. No other advice as I have the 5” and it doesn’t bother me a bit. |

| I am in the market for a new saddle. I have a Jeff Smith cowboy collection, love how it rides but it doesn't fit my mare. I just called and asked if they could tell me more about my saddle (bought it used) and what saddle of theirs they would suggest for my mare. I was told they can't fit a horse from pictures and they couldn't make a recommendation. I fully understand there are no guarantees with fitting a horse a 1000 miles away but they wouldn't even give me a starting point?!?

And I think that is why they have taken so many saddles back. Those recommendations off of pictures were not accurate. I could be wrong on my assumption tho. |

Far fewer c3’s than say Martins, Double J’s etc. granted they are newer to the market. My guess would be people cannot find one locally to try and end up with the wrong size or they don’t like the style. I’ve got a half dozen people who want to check mine out before they invest.
If it has anything to do with the quality I’d seriously wonder what they are basing their expectations on. |
