We did a Barebecue and Cookout and did silly races like barrel pick up, musical poles, drunk footrace (Hold your forehead to a bat in the middle of the arena, turn ten times, and run home, and teddy bear buck offs. We even had a fundraiser for the club up until the date of the show and if we raised enough money as individuals (top 5) we got to pie our co-ordinators/president in the face. LOL We even had ribbons for funny things like "best buckoff" for the teddy bear buckoff and"most terrible run" for the footrace (in case someone faceplanted after turning ten circles around a bat in the arena. Most everyone got this ribbon at the show LOL)
They handed out funny prizes like home made trophies and ribbons. We even had a ping pong championship in the barn for siblings who didn't ride. Winner got a buckle with "Ping Pong Champ" with paddles on it. Funniest award to date. It was a blast! No pressure show, All fun and games. Our fundraiser paid for the prizes plus some. We had a raffle and sold loads of tickets. We had a big turnout to watch our funny games. ETA: We had a dress up class as well. The PeeWee class loved this one and went all out. We also did a lead line class where the rider led their horses around the barrels with their teddy bears/dolls riding in the saddle. Some adults did this class as well and it was WAY funny.
thats sounds like a lot of fun! But as a director of nbha - any ideas on celebrating 10 years? Maybe a theme throughout the show season to commerate 10 years Just wondering if anyone has done anything like that

Gotcha! Wasn't sure what type of show you were asking about. Ours was a playday event. A theme is a good idea. Maybe put this "theme" on all the prizes?
