What can you tell me about horses directly out of Flit To Kill? Are they worth a lot simply because of their sire? There's a 4 year old I like but he's pretty pricy and I don't think he's bred amazingly on the bottom side. He's well broke and currently in training on the pattern... But is priced just as high as some finished 2D/3D horses....

I have a FTK and I have owned him since he a mid-2YO. He is by FTK and out of a Bully Bullion Appendix mare. He is a registered black and 16H. He is now a 5 YO. He is a late baby being born on May 2.  I personally think this colt is a 'late bloomer". I think he will come on this summer as a 5YO.  He is picky and loves his actual rider.  We have done nice futurity colts in the past and knew this colt needed to wait. He is pretty and fast, but needs to wait. If you are looking at a 4YO and has been trained correctly, I would not hesitate. I would not sell mine....love him.

The only one I've ever been around was a pleasure to ride but when you weren't on top of her she took her name way too seriously. You were much safer on her than beside her.

I have a son of Flit to Kill now that is a 9 year old and is just really figuring things out and getting more consistent. With him I do thing he matured later but then we didn't buy him until he was 7.

A lot of his offspring have done really well.  On the pro rodeo scene, at jackpots, and big divisional races.  Depending on who's training, the horse may very well be worth it.

Ive owned 5 or 6 FTK's. I would choose one over anyother bloodline out there. They suit me perfectly and ive made good money selling them. I had mares but i hear the geldings are even nicer.

I just bought a small grandson out of a cowbred mare- I'm hoping he matures a bit bigger as he is rather small. Fingers crossed

Nicely bred, well started prospects on target for futurities will cost every bit as much as a 2D/3D finished horse.  Some will be priced even higher.

So, if I'm not the least bit interested in futurities, it seems as though my money would be better spent on a finished horse??

Seasoning a green colt is a test!! Only you know if you have the ability to get thru the ups and downs of that process. Maybe you do or maybe you just want to go run and not have to worry with seasoning.
If this FTK is doing well and is futurity eligible then his price may reflect that.

Asking for a ballpark figure- considering how to price a theoretical yearling by FTK

Out of a cowbred mare- no barrel winnings, just ranchy and a great using horse around the place. She's quick and quiet minded, very level headed, seems to have passed some of that onto the foal.

Of all the variables involved in pricing one, what would you ask for one that was built nice and PIF to Future Fortunes?

3 x stud fee until they have a job riding and you have a feel for what they are. That is also the standard insurance companies use for home raised and owned babies.
