I ran at a race last weekend and it wasn't until 6+ hours later, no coughing, no nothing that I saw a tiny bit of " Rusty" color out of my horse's nostrils. Not even a trickle of blood, nothing on side of trailer or in trailer, nada. Called my vet and she is really confident my horse did not " BLeed" from the run. We went from a month of rain and soggy to 40+ MPH HOT winds, dust etc. Vet thinks its irritation from the air passages and not lungs. Either way, I was not able to get in for a scope ( THe only way to tell for sure) so she told me to do a week of SMZ's as precaution and light exercise for a week and return to normal. My question is " If" she did happen to bleed from lungs how long do you lay one off? Thanks!
