I know a few that do and it's been great for them. Hips are easy, knees are hard. That's what I learn from working around older folks lol!

that's awesome! ... I'm looking at having a hip replacement, I currently have a fused hip and I'm hoping for a good out come. I am just nervous of not knowing if I could barrel race and rodeo anymore!

One of the ladies in my office is having hers redone specifically because she can't stand to be a couch jockey and an "old lady" at 67. Once she gets it done she will go back to kicking my butt again (I am in my 30's.) Her doctor told her it takes about 1 year to fully heal and then she will be good as new.

There are a few in our district that have hip replacements and they are definitely spry!

One of my very good friends races with a hip replacement and there are at least 2 others in this area that I know of who race.

You should look into MFR therapy and start it before your surgery and after. It does an amazing job with all the muscles that are involved. Good Luck!

If you can't find a therapist in this directory, call them and they should be able to find one for you as many therapists don't advertise in the directory.

I can't speak for a replacement, but I've had hip surgery at a young age. I had a severe labral tear repair at 25 and never looked back. Before surgery, I had to use a stool to get off and on my horses and lived off of Tylenol and aleve. I used an associate of Tandy Freeman's in Dallas and he was phenomenal!! Go for it!!! Do all of the therapy- and then some!

I'm not sure that the MFR therapy would help any, I don't have a hip joint at all its a solid bone.

I will definitely keep you guys posted!

Thank yall again for the response!

So Sorry I am just updating! the surgery had a few complications so it set me back 3 months from walking butttt I have been walking and riding now for the last 3 months and the riding feels amazing I'm just trying to figure my balance and timing out when I'm working barrels that has been difficult. I go for my 6th month check up on the 29th of this month and I'm excited! everyday my left side feels stronger and the limp is getting less! I appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers!! I was shocked to see this post up top when I logged on this morning!

my doctor told me as long as I done my exercises at home I didn't have to go through therapy. I do simple leg lifts and range of motion. I went from a hip fusion of 18 yrs to a hip replacement
