My friend's horse was majorly affected by this wacky weather change we've had here in the Memphis area- 75 yesterday, 40 today. He colicked hard, and took a turn for the worse tonight. She called and asked if I would go with her in the morning to make the final call if there isn't improvement overnight. She could use some good thoughts tonight, friends. Her horse's name is Peter, and she moved here from Oklahoma about a year ago- no family in town.

I hate this weather! 50 Monday snow and teens yesterday and today and mid 50's tomorrow. Ugh, has me paranoid about them too.

Prayers for your friend and Peter...

Thanks everyone! The vet does not seem optimistic and has told her to prepare herself. But I'm hoping our prayers will help pull him through.

The vet called late last night to say he was worse, but by 7 am the tube was out and Peter was eating hay and looking better- the loop in his small intestine is gone and he's got diarrhea now, which is to be expected, but at this point is very welcome! No explanation for his turnaround other than the power of prayer! Thank you everyone!

I'm so sorry to those who've lost their babies in the recent weeks. My friend is very fortunate that she gets to bring her man home tomorrow. She thanks you all for your prayers!

I'm so sorry. . . We've gone thru colic several times but thank the good Lord it never reached hospitalization or surgery, and they all ended up ok.

To the OP---I've thought about Peter off and on all day but was just now able to get on here and check on him. I'm so so glad prayers were answered

Thanks Chandler's mom. I had the vet out 3 times, and I gave fluids twice a day for a week. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

I'm SO glad the OP's friend's horse is on the mend!
