Hello! Can anyone give input on what the ground is like at this facility? I know if can depend on producer, but overall: shallow, deep, has hold, slick, etc.? A few shows there I am considering entering, such as Colonial Nationals, VA Barrel Classic, etc. Thanks in advance! :)

The VA Horse Center is an awesome facility. Carlton knows his stuff and makes the best ground ever for the VA Classic. It's deep, but it holds and there are precious few slips. Ground at Colonial Nationals isn't as good - NBHA won't add the water necessary for it and they don't work it as deep. If you have a floater it's good ground, but any horse looking to dig in will slip. Our NBHA state finals is held there too and the same crew does ground as for the Classic. No Bulls is holding a show there in just over a month and I expect they will do the ground good too.
