I LOVE the American Hat Co hats but the crowns are so high. I like a lower crown. Problem I'm finding is the lower crown straw hats don't stay on my head as well.
Is there a lower crown straw hat that will stay put without having to tie it to my head?

I'd love to find ANY straw hat that will stay on my head without having to tie it on!LOL I've given up every year on finding one and just wear the old faithful felt even in the summer. I have made it my goal for this year to find a straw though. I don't even care what it costs. I WILL FIND ONE!!!!LOL

I don't have an answer other than hat companies should make low crowns. An oval face doesn't look as great with a taller crown. If someone has a long face, a short crown is more flattering. A long face and a tall crown is not fun. Proportion and illusion is the key. Just like wearing clothes that make a person look thinner. Hats need to be made to compliment faces. LOL

My felts are high $$ Americans, but the best straw I have found (for staying put) is a $25 Twister. I got mine at a local western store, but I think Cavenders carries them. It's going on 3 seasons too--can't beat that!

I had some low crown Hereford Atwoods that I loved, but they would fly off if my horse farted in my direction. I have an American straw now that I bought with a raw shape and had them do the square top to the crown (not sure the offical name). It's much more flattering than the cattlemans crease with my face shape and if my hat comes off, my head is probably in it still.
