| I have the opportunity to buy a prospect. and have it narrowed down between two, both broke one is started lightly on the pattern, the other has had more training rides....
both priced the same.
horse #1 is a gelding out of A Streak of Fling and a Dash for Cash/Doc Bar mare
horse #2 is a mare out of Dash Ta Fame and a Martha Six Moons mare |

| based on that information alone, I would probably buy the DTF/MSM mare. If they are the same price, Mare would be more marketable in the future. |

| Just day based on sire I would say the Dash Ta Fame. There are too many other factors to consider such as dames, performance records of dames, conformation, age to name a few |

| You could put 2 full siblings next to each other with exactly the same confirmation and I would buy the mare every time. When you are spending that kind of money, if you are plagued with an injury, at least you can breed the mare or still sell her for big bucks, where with the gelding, you will have a pasture ornament that's bred good.
Some people like geldings better and Lord knows they are more predictable lol |

This. Dash Ta Fame mates will continue to go up in value due to him being deceased. I think the SOF are kind of hit or miss too. I've seen a bunch of them that were really long backed and ugly. I'm partial because I've had luck with Fames, but I'd pick the mare. |

A dame is a female short for damsel. There is this thing called auto correct on this newer computers. iIt often changes what you actually intended. You must have an older model. Sorry for the confusion. It was supposed to be DAM. That would be the mother. |

That's stupid Siri on the iPhone thinking she's smarter than me again! I've come to the conclusion that Siri is not a horsewoman! |

| Thank you everyone! I was leaning towards the mare, confirmationally they are both built great, the filly is a bit taller, both dams were AA and the ASOF maternal granddam has produced some top barrel horses, yet the DTF dam has produced futurity and race winners as well! The gelding will top out at around 15h, the mare closer to 16h (like most DTF).

Location: Where I am happiest | If your buying to ride and compete on, I would buy he one you fit and get along best with. You know which one felt best to you when you tried them out. Nothing worse then being blinded by other factors and ending up with a horse you just dont like or get along with. |

Location: Oakdale, CA | now having owned neither of either I would go with the streak of fling out of the doc bar mare......... Might not be as big of a job as a all running bred. I would look at confirmation and swing a leg over too to see which felt the best under me................................. |

Location: Pittsburg, Texas 75686 | #1 Which ever one fits you the best. I favor Streak Of Flings. They haven't been around as long as the DTF but they have great legs (less problems than DTF), nice solid heavy bone. They are a little hard headed but hold up well. We have two SOF, one stud, one gelding. Both mature differently. The stud out of a DTF mare matures faster both will be very solid. Have a JL Dash Ta Heaven in training now that we love. This is a hard one!! |
