I am not able to find the mare, a supposedly registered thoroughbred on any data bases. There is a dam name listed on the papers for the colt that were issued by AQHA with an apendix number however on the mares registration there is no name listed the certificate states: This is to certify that the dark bay or brown filly named ********* foaled on.. blah blah blah. All the other information on the Jockey Club certificate is present and matches what AQHA has listed on the baby's papers. My question is, why is there no name listed on the thoroughbred certificate? Can colts be registered without a name through Jockey Club and assigned a number for registry?
