Location: Never in one place long | I am planning a 1-2yr traveling adventure in 2018, I've been planning, savings and preparing...
I am seeking advice on Countries to visit and advice on traveling in general, I'm not an amateur as I've traveled my fair share on trips (mostly Europe and Central America) but I'd like advice from those who have traveled extensively. So far, unless I can find someone who wants to travel with me, (I'd LOVE a travel partner!) I will be traveling alone. I know many people in Foreign Countries so going to try to stay connected most places I go.
I do plan to travel around Europe a while, Asia, Central America and South American a bit. I'm also doing more traveling in the States and maybe Canada and Africa...
Has anyone ever heard of workaway.com or used it? I am thinking of primarily doing workaway and a few internships.
Any advice would be appreciated! I of course want to travel safely, this has been a dream of mine for years! Connections would also be very appreciated! Feel free to PM me.

Location: Michigan | We did a 7 day riding safari in Botswana. It was the best adventure we've ever taken. We visited zambia, did some white water rafting on the Zambezi, and visited Victoria falls.
If you get that way, do all those things! |

| My 27 year old daughter went to Buddapest, Brussels, Venice and surrounding countries over Christmas and went to Hong Kong over Thsnksgiving. She went by herself, loved both trips. We down loaded an app that tracked her in case something happened, made me feel much better. I can put you in touch if you want to talk to her |

You should come with me haha!! I want a travel partner! it'd be fun not to do it all alone! That's why I think doing mostly "workaways" so I have a host family will help! |

One of the reasons why I'm going...more chance of being blown up by a volcano then an idiot human I hope. LOL
Plus the trip is very reasonable...$1000 for straight flight out of Minneapolis/St. Paul, hotel room and breakfast. We'll only be there for 5 days but I'm still excited to go. I really want to see the northern lights there even though I can see them here in ND. |

Ireland, France, Slovenia, Germany, Czech Republic, Croatia. I'd go back to all of them! Went to Nicaragua for a trip this summer, that was amazing also. |

I have family in France and Germany. My favorite city in France is probably Metz (I'm biased lol) the cathedral is BEAUTIFUL, in early September they have the meribel (sp?) fest with these amazing fruits YUMM!! It has French and German history cause it's so close to the German border it's gone between France and Germany multiple times. There's an old German gate in the city, the train station is filled with history.
Germany, the Black Forest is beautiful and there is a little village in he mountains where they have taken old homes from different parts of the mountains and put them together with animals and actors to make it like an old village.
Southern Spain is very pretty and there is a point where you can see Africa from the Spanish coast. Barcelona, the Sograta Familia (BEAUTIFUL cathedral that's been under construction for 100 years).
If you have already been to Ireland I can't be any help there. It's beautiful as you probably saw and remember. |

Location: B-F-E | I traveled to Amsterdam and South Africa last year. Amsterdam was AMAZING and so different from here in the states. Tons of bikes and mopeds everywhere and all the taxi's are bmw's and teslas. So many things to see as well. I recommend visiting a smoke shop and trying a space cake or walking around the Red Light District or seeing the Anne Frank house. You think is going to be some sketchy place full of weirdo's but family's go there. TONS of restaurants. You'll have a sex shop right next to laundry mat or a small grocery store, it's BIZARRE! We went to 2 hours north of Johannesburg, South Africa to go hunting and it was interesting. Drove around Pilanesburg Park and got extremely close to an elephant and tons of other wild animals. We went to Cape Town, south Africa after that and it was completely different from Johannesburg. SUPER cheap too. One American dollar = 15 of their currency. Did a wine tour, shark diving in the cage, toured the entire country side. We spent 3 weeks going to all these places. Most amazing experience of my life. Safe travels to you! |

Location: Nebraska | Poland. Just... Poland. SO full of culture, beauty, and stories. I especially recommend the Malopolska region (or "Lesser Poland", as it translates). Auschwitz is haunting but is worth visiting- they have tours in multiple languages. Also visit a city called Zakopane. Very easily the prettiest place I have been to. And of course, you MUST visit Kraków and the Wieliczka Salt Mines. |
