Just wondering if anyone has one of these and/or how do you like it and/or do you go by a cookbook.

I have one that is also a slow cooker. Love it, just wish it was a bit bigger. I use alot of recipes on pinterest. Just yesterday morning, I threw frozen chicken breasts and BBQ sauce in it, turned on the slow cooker setting for 8hrs....and when it was finished I had shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches! Love it

I have one that is the 7 in 1. I love it. I have cooked chicken from frozen in a few minutes. BBQ ribs is my favorite. No cookbook, I get most recipes on Pinterest or on facebook, there are several pages.

Glad to hear such great things about them. I just got one last week but just not sure how to use it or what to cook in it. Not that I have a busy family, just don't like to cook but want homemade food and something quick. Usually it is just me as my other half works for the government and is out on the road most of the time.

I want to respond because I love my instant pot-BUT I don't have any recipe advice other than I google things I'm hungry for: like mongolian beef in the pressure cooker-and voila you have a recipe-seriously forgot how GOOD real rice is over minute rice.  I have made our homemade sausage in the thing in like 3 minutes-put a ring in the bottom with a few tablespoons of water set the pressure valve and timer to 3 minutes and went and took a shower-sausage was ready when I was done.  I think things you can do all day on the counter in a crockpot can be done in 20-30 minutes in the pressure cooker.

Does the food actually taste good made in the instant pot?

We can't stand the taste of food from a crock pot.

Me too.  I don't use them because I don't like the way food tastes.

Yes it is different than a crockpot, the food keeps the texture.

I love my pressure cooker (mines not an insta pot but similar) and I'm using it as I type this. I google recipes or use pinterest...some have been ones we won't use again and others we'll definitely make again. I love to cook my potatoes in it...I'm not the greatest cook and sometimes don't get the potatoes all the way done and my kids say my mashed potatoes are way better when I use the pressure cooker!! Anyhow...love mine and recommend them.

Well it is not as fast as it seems as it does have to get to pressure and then come down. I use mine  alot for soup.  I also like artichokes. who has 45-60 minutes to cook an artichoke and have to watch that you do not boil all the water out LOL yes it has happened to me. so I put it in the instapot and set for 12-15 minutes. it ends up taking almost 5 to get to pressure then the timer begins. after that i program mine to shut off so it is ready to open in 10-20 minutes. I put it on before going out and cleaning stalls. I come in and it is ready to open!

We have one, my fiance had me order it. We used it once lol. Honestly I'm a tad scared of it but the crockpot stresses me out to knowing its plugged up all day. It worked well and I keep meaning to use it but keep forgetting.

love mine - mine isn't an insta pot - it is from wal mart the faberware but same thing -  cooked a frozen roast in 35 minutes, after it pressurized.
meat was tender....
chili is good - seems to be more flavorful.
you can sear meat right in the pot.
9 different setting -
we make chicken lombardy at work one day 2 unfrozen checken breast 6 frozen checken breasts and it was ready within an hour - the chicken was tender and lunch was so tasty..
LOVE IT!
I like my crock pots too - plug in the morning come home at night - hot meal.   but really like the insta pot or version of one.
some pointers - on meat don't do a quick release - let it release on own when cooking meat - all other you can do a QR.  quick release.

my friend cooked a frozen chicken in 15 minutes - tender, fell off the bone - and tasty tasty - the flavors are infused as it cooks...

DON"T be scared of them - just pay attention when you release the steam  - it will burn you.

My mom has the farberware one from Walmart and loves it. She uses it a couple times a week.
