Who does everyone use for Roadside Assistance? I only pull a little 2 horse trailer, but my pickup insurance won't cover roadside assistance should I get a flat on my trailer. Who have you had good experiences with?

I use US Rider...not the cheapest I'm sure but cover everything I could possibly need including pulling my trailer with horses in it if ever needed.  Had Good Sam's but they wouldn't work on a flat with horses in the trailer.

IMHO, talk with someone at US rider and find out what kind of coverage they have in the area you normally travel in. My experience was not a positive one with them

Hands down to US Rider. I've used them maybe 3 times for blowouts and keys locked in the past 3 years..they will change a tire with horses in the trailer! I had AAA one year, and they won't touch a trailer with any livestock inside. Got rid of them right away

I have USRider, and had to use it twice in the last 5 months. First time we got stranded on a Sunday night after a race. And they got a tow truck out within 1½ hour to tow truck and trailer to our house. Not something I would do again, I was scared out of my mind... tow-truck, our F350 super crew, long bed and a 4 horse LQ trailer....  yea that was quit a sight!!
Then last Saturday I wanted to go home after another race and the truck wouldn't start again. (seperate problem) they had a mechanic out within an hour this time. Unfortunatly he couldn't fix it on the spot, but is working on it now.

I like having the peace of mind knowing that if I need help, it's there. And both times when I called the first question of the operator was if I and my horse where in a safe place.

I looked at US Rider's website. I called and signed up - took 3 minutes - and I have service within 24 hours. Sweet.

I've been thinking about getting some type of roadside assistence, since my truck is 16 years old now.  The peace of mind would probably be worth it.  It has a little over 100,000 miles on it.  Glad to see this post!

Going to go with everyone else and say US Rider. Ive had them about 5 years and used them 3 times so far. 1st time was a blowout on the trailer and it was thru a friends us rider membership. They fixed it and had us back on road. 2nd time i lost tranny in my truck and they towed us 2 1/2 hrs home from nj and paid tolls thru NYC. 3rd time truck broke down not pulling anything and AAA told us they wouldnt touch my truck because its a 3500 dually. US rider was out within an hour.

I have US Rider as well. Have only used it once. I was on the freeway at night in the middle of nowhere and had to call them. I think it was a weekend too and it took a while to get a tow truck and the cost was over what they covered, but I figured it was better than nothing!

I've had USRider for several years now.  I made the switch from AAA because of the coverage offered for the horses.  I've used them several times - trailer blowouts, dead battery on the truck, blowout on the inside dual wheel on the motorhome, and when the motorhome overheated.  The service has been good on everything but the overheating.  That one was a complete BUST.  They did tow the MH 70 miles but what they showed up with to pull the horses and trailer home with was not acceptable.  And this was after multiple phone calls over a 7, yes, SEVEN hour wait.  My 10yo daughter and I were stuck in a parking lot for seven hours.  I ended up getting my husband to borrow a truck and come get us - which I could have done to start with if the towing company hadn't kept stringing me along.  A lot more to this story but...  when I gave a scathing review of the service call, USRider jumped through many hoops finding out what happened and apologized over several direct phone calls to me, gave me a free year and did everything right in repairing the damage that idiot tow company did that day to the customer relationship.  I've also now added my daughter since she has gone away to college.

?Oh, and they also sent a mega winch truck to the house to pull the big tractor out that got stuck in the mud trying to pull the little tractor out that got stuck in the mud trying to pull the truck out that got stuck in the mud trying to pull the little truck out that got stuck in the mud.  Yep, my husband buried everything but the golf cart that day!  hee hee

I carry US Rider as well. For the money it's worth the comfort.

I have a friend who had mixed experiences in terms of experience, but she was also kind of in BFE at the time.

I have Roadside Assistance with my AT&T cell service. It's $2.99 a month. I have had to use it several times with flat tires on my truck, but did have a blow-out on my trailer a couple of years ago, and someone came and fixed it without me having to unload the horses.

the cell phone road side assistance will not fix a flat on a dually and will not tow a truck and trailer. US Rider will also get a vet out if your horse is sick and you are not near your regular vet. It has some super horsey features such as putting your horses up in case you are broken down away from home. Well worth the $12 per month charge.

I would say $9.00 extra dollars a month would be well worth it!

US Rider is awesome.  I have had them for about 10 years and used them many times.  One time we slung tread from a trailer tire and it severed my brake and light wiring.  THey sent a semi service that changed the tire and rewired everything on the road side. I do know that if your road side work goes over $250 per occurence you could owe the overage.  If you do not have the funds available, US Rider will pay and bill you.

The associate person is a family member under 26. The first year I added my trainer, she was added as an associate. After that, I had to pay full price. Also, the US Rider is on you so if you are in a truck with someone else and you have trouble, you are covered. If you have US Rider an your husband goes to a roping without you, he is not covered. Did that make sense?

I use Trailguard, this will be my 3rd year. Had to use it twice and they were fast to help me and did follow up calls to make sure I was still ok and that everything was going well. Before I signed up, I compared US RIDER and Trailguard. For me, Trailguard was a better fit. It is costly, but I signed up at a point they were having a deal, so every year I pay that same deal

Yes, thank you. I had overlooked the "under age 26" part, so a husband and wife would need two seperate memberships.

No, spouse is considered associate.

According to their FAQ page an associate is spouse, domestic partner, child under 19 or under 25 as long as they are a tax dependent college student. So if your 22 year old is off at college they are an associate, if they are not in college they do not qualify as an associate.

I like the the coverage follows me regardless of who's truck and trailer I'm traveling with, and they will assist without a trailer as well - so if I have an issue with the dually truck they will help whereas regular roadside assistance may have trouble with the duals.

I have had US Rider for years. Back several years ago I had a flat on the trailer whiled parked overnight at the hook up. I called them and they said it wasn't covered. So I drove into town, bought a new tire and changed it myself. I did call on Monday and voiced my concern. Apparently there were some issues on what the vendors understood was covered, and the gentleman apologized and said he'd get it fixed.

All of these experiences seem more recent so maybe the glitch is fixed. I still have them for all the reasons everyone has given.

I had an issue with my dually and no trailer in a rest area and AAA told me they wouldnt cover it because it was over a 3500. US rider was out with in 45 min with a tow truck
