For those that feed mainly alfalfa, what other products do you balance it out with? I just became a Larsen Farm alfalfa dealer in sW GA and so I'm wanting to put my horses on a mostly forage diet. I alternate alfalfa 2x a day and then coastal 2x a day. Some still get grain like the hard keepers. I just want to make sure they are getting everything they need with this swap.

If I was feeding mostly alfalfa I would give them 1lb of renew gold a day. You should be able to order it from any tractor supply. Also try out a Hay Chix slow feeding net to help elimiate any waste and slow down their hay consumption

Right now we have a compressed block in the paddock and they have access 12 hrs a day. With the wires still on the block hey have to work to eat it, which makes it last longer and they can't just gorge themselves on it!
Looks like Renew Gold is the way to go!
