We have an appt on Wednesday with a very good lameness vet but since there is no WebMD for horses....

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to find information about knees and the ligaments and tendons than run along the sides?

horse ended up with two very small puncture wounds to the outside of the knee, local vet x-rayed it and there was no damage to the bone...no blood, issues etc...gave her a long term antibiotic shot and said she'd be fine. that was 3 weeks ago.

She got better for the most but then a week ago it was swollen just above the knee again, local vet came out again, said scar issue, sedated her and manipulated the knee and said to give her bute and it was going to be swollen for a few days then she'd be fine again. that was 8 days ago

Its even bigger than it was before the manipulation. Its been cold here so its hard to judge heat but it doesn't seem that hot...cold hosing, sweating, and poulticing with no results. I cant pick her leg up..

I'm done with local vet advice and going to my lameness vet which I should have done in the first place...but they ( the punctures) didn't appear to be anything serious.

What ligaments run down the outside of the knee?
