Gate anxiety which works best for this issue?

Pozzi Relax is Jailbreak with the added Tryptophan.

I had good results with Pozzi Relax and In The Zone. Jailbreak seems more of a electrolyte instead of a calmer to me. I currently use In The Zone because it is cheaper than Pozzi and I still get great results with it.

Why do horses get gate anxiety in the first place?

I've got a horse that has had everything done right by him, yet he's a personality type that just FEEDS off of other horses' energy and near the gate/in the warm up is very stimulating to him.  If I don't hold it totally together he can melt down fast.  I stay away as long as possible but some arenas require the next 5 to be up in the holding pen. Hate that scenario for him.  A paste that actually works would be great!

ITZ Paste hands down. (In The Zone.)

I feel like I've tried just about every calming supplement out there through the years and the ONLY one I feel that has worked on all my horses is In The Zone. I swear by it. If you don't feel that you get the results you were hoping for, up the dose. A dealer (who claims he is the highest selling one in the US, not sure if he is or not) says you can't overdose with ITZ and he gives multiple tubes a day to his racehorses through the winter when they were cooped up in the barn.

I have tried a few calming things over the years but my favorite is now In the Zone paste. It has helped every horse I have tried it on. First experience was at a clinic. This girl's horse could go 0 to 90 in like 1 stride and was just HOT, HOT, HOT. Couldn't hardly do any slow work. Ms. Lynn had her give the mare a dose (maybe 2) and let her stand in the corner. She came back maybe 20 min later and the mare would lope through. Within a time or two going through the pattern the mare was able to actually trot/walk the pattern. It was awesome to see and wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.

I like ITZ because it doesn't make the "drugged" acting and they keep their brains/run. I will start giving it to my 6 year old this year. He isn't edgy or hot or anything, I just think it may help him stay focused and honed it on his job. I have given it to every one of my horses, even the rope horses.

Can also help in a colic situation if you catch it in the early stages. Can help a horse eat/drink better on the road. (just FYI).

I just love the stuff haha

I have had good luck with GastroPlex (by MVP) on my husbands anxious gelding. It does a good job coating his stomach and taking away the abrasiveness of any acid that may be sloshing around in there.

eta: I did not see results with the Pozzi Relax, I saw okay results with the ITZ.
