Depending on where you live and work, you can earn a decent income in billing or as a "coding specialist". There are courses you need to take and you have to pass an exam to be certified.
I'm guessing the hourly wage runs between $15-30/hr.

A lady in my area commented that she needed business from up North in order to make more than minimum wage. I didn't ask her the details, but she was excited that the Mayo clinic was calling her.

I've been a coder since 2006. Three is strong demand and you can easily make $50 k range once you gain experience. You need to be very detailed and not mind doing she job day after day. You read office notes which can add variety but essentially your doing same thing.
I was actually recruited to a new clinic by a Dr I once worked for. I'm not the assistant administrator and have a very nice career. For the amount of schooling involved, you can make **** good money.

Is this something one could do in the evening/nights when everyone else is in bed? I've been needing a second job but with my full time one my options are limited.
