Beet pulp feeders ! How many lbs a day do you feed ? I'm trying to get a mare to gain weight . I read that 3 lbs a day of beet pulp will gain a 1/2 lb a day. I'm unsure if I can get her to eat that much . I also feed her 2 lbs of alfalfa pellets at night . She gets 7 lbs of triple crown senior & 1 lb of renew gold split into two feelings . I just started adding the beet pulp . I know the renew gold wouldn't be enough by itself . She's been treated for ulcers . Maintaining on a low dose of ulcer guard now . Tell me what you all feed & what works for your hard keepers / picky eaters

That is a lot of processed feed-The Triple Crown. If you recently treated for ulcers, I would be worried that would just irriate them. As for the beet pulp, I weighed mine a long time ago and can't remember what it was, but I feed a coffee can (the metal Folgers kind) and give about 1/3 a coffee can of beet pellets and about 1/2 a coffee can of alfalfa pellets. I soak it and it fills a bucket up pretty full. It is really easy to adjust one way or the other as long as they will eat it in the first place. Might have to start with just a dab of beets as they are pretty drab without molassas and I refuse to feed the kind with molassas.

Worm your horse and add forco. If I fed that. Amount to my piggies they couldn't waddle away. I give 2 1/2 scoops dry which equals 2 scoops each for 4 horses Wet.save your bacon grease put a table spoon on your grain.

I feed mine about a cups worth dry daily, with forco pellets, flax seed and the younger colt that's being worked harder also gets a scoop of weight builder. They have all the good quality hay they can eat with this tossed on each night. It's been working fine so far. They're slowly gaining, with exercise, and have a super shiny coat, considering they are shedding like crazy too.
