Location: Alabama | How do you keep your saddle from rolling on a wide/round horse? I'm sick to death of loping three circles and having to stop and pull my saddle back to the middle.
I've got a 1/2" 5 star pad, properly adjusted cinch, and snugged up flank cinch. What else can I do? Help! |

On my old man, who was short as all get out but made up for in width, the CJ Record breaker fit him perfect. I think that's what I'm going to have to go for on my colt, who I never thought would get that big lol |

This is what I ride my wide/flat backed mare in, and the roll has stopped. |

| Try a saddle pad called the won. It won't matter be & cheaper than a saddle, if that's not an option. |

Location: Alabama | I'm going to look up the won pad as well. I'm using a brand new professionals choice fleece cinch currently. Pad is clean. I get the same slip with the saddle right pad. Neoprene cinch doesn't help either. I've tried four different saddles so far. The struggle is real y'all! Thanks for the ideas! It is appreciated! |

I have both. The #10 has significantly more rock in the bars, and I've had 1 horse that it truely fits. Naturally I sold her so now it's sitting in the barn looking pretty and getting no use |

A #10 Pozzi is for horses that need more of a rock to the tree, like if you have a horse with more of a dip to its back, I have the #10 also and fits my big boy that does have a dip to his back, the wide fits him nice too, but I like the #10 on him better, the sorrel has a more flatter/strighter/thicker back so I like the wide on him better. |

I bought one of these cinches and wasn't super impressed with it. Maybe it was my saddle or I'm doing something wrong... do you make runs in it? |

They're all I use. I run in them, condition, trail ride etc etc. Do you have a Near Tight or a Never Tight? I've had a Near and I wouldn't buy another. |

Yes, I do make runs in it. I had to get close on the fit of the saddle. Even after the better fitting saddle, it rolled. I bought this girth and it was the perfect thing for my mare. She moves so much better and I can tell she can breathe better. Instant improvement in our times. Same as above, tho. It's a Never Tight. |

Thanks! I have since changed the saddle/pad combo I'm running in so I'll have to re-try it. It's the Never Tight. I also found my horse got very hot under it last summer. |

My mare is so similarly built to yours and I'm struggling with saddle fit too. I sold my Lazy L by Coats becuase it was too narrow for her. I currently have a treeless that I am not liking at all. I'm going to go back to a treed saddle. Looks like the Double J Pozzi might be what I need to look at. |

I tired treeless before and will go that route again if I have too. Since I plan to keep this horse from now on, I really want to find a good fit for she and I instead of just making do. Let me know if the Pozzi works for you! I am hoping to try the #10 tree this week. He is another pic of my girl, though not as recent.

I have a #10 tree. I have a DTF with very high withers and is more of a TB build. It fits him great. I really do love it. |

Here is my mare. Not a great picture but you can see how she doesn't have much wither and is very muscular through her loin and thick-backed. I just don't love the treeless and it's working right now but I struggle with it staying tight on her and I feel rocked forward and my toes down. I do okay in a run in it, but I miss my treed saddle a lot. I looked at Double J's demo program and may have to go that way. I'm also looking at a custom Martin too, but have never ridden one. It's hard because I don't have a bunch of places to try different saddles. Definitely been a process. Thanks for your input.

Location: Idahome | I love my wide Pozzi. My mare is wider in her lower back that in by her wither though, so I have found that adding a shim really helped in my fit. It did fit ok before the shim, but that little extra has made a huge difference for us. I also have a 4 yo that has little wither and wide all the way back and it fits him great with a 1/2" pad. |
