We had 2 - one wanted to be a cowhorse, so that's what we used her for. The other wanted to be a pickup horse, so that's what we used him for. We didn't do barrels on them anymore. They were really good at what they wanted to do.

We had one that loved to chase a cow and made a hell of a heading horse. Found out that if we roped on him throughout the week, he was perfectly content with running barrels on the weekend. Sometimes you have to find balance. We did end up selling him because we aren't really much of ropers. The lady that has him now does what I mentioned above and he's perfectly fine.

We have one with some fairly big barrel names on his papers, a maternal half brother to Tinman. Not a cow horse in sight on paper, but he's a darn nice head horse and the 1st one we pull out when we have to pasture rope something - you won't get outrun that's for darn sure.
he runs a decent set of cans but he does it out of obedience.
