There is no RFV calculation for horses, only cattle so a lot comes into place than just a number. I am not a guru, but I thought this article was helpful

To me, 134 RFV for that mix seems higher than normal. I would imagine that it is very good hay, either way. However, I don't find RFV to be all that useful in horse hay analysis. I think the protein percentage and energy values would be more helpful. Generally 50/50 timothy alfalfa is a very good mix and should feed very well.

FLITASTIC - 2017-04-21 3:19 PM I feed Timothy alfalfa mix as well. And I pay 28.00 a bale. I sure wish I could get it for 4!!!!!
Im sorta skeptical at this point...I thought that was super cheap up here too. Im from the south where people paid $24 for tiny little bales of alfalfa! Up here you hear of people paying $8-$10!
